GErman Award for young scientists in olfactory research 2027
The German Society of Perfumers is pleased to announce the
German Award for Young Perfumers (DGP) 2026
The German Society of Perfumers (DGP) in SEPAWA® e.V. is committed to advancing scientific knowledge and innovation in the field of fragrance and olfactory sciences. To encourage and recognize outstanding young researchers, the DGP bi-annually awards the German Award for Young Scientists in Olfactory Research 2027, endowed with €2,000.
The award honors exceptional diploma, master’s, or equivalent academic theses that contribute to a deeper understanding of perfumery and the science of smell. Eligible works may address topics such as sensory analysis and product research, olfactory physiology, perception psychology, aroma chemical research, fragrance technology and other disciplines related to olfactory science.
The award recognizes scientific excellence, originality, and the potential impact of the research on the fragrance industry and the broader understanding of olfaction.
Submission Requirements
Young scientists (under the age of 35) of any nationality are encouraged to participate.
Theses must be written in English or German, be no older than 18 months at the time of application, and must not have been submitted to comparable competitions.
Applications should include:
- a curriculum vitae
- the full tesis, and
- an abstract summarizing the research and its key findings.
Jury
The recipient will be selected by an independent panel of experts appointed by the DGP Executive Board.
Award & Award Ceremony
The winning creator will be honored with 2000 EUR and a certificate.
The DGP is pleased to announce and honor the winner during a formal award ceremony at the SEPAWA CONGRESS on Thursday, 28 October 2027 in Berlin.
